Could these be the most important US mid-term elections ever?

There’s a long list of potential outcomes.  A Republican majority in both houses could mean a near blank cheque for the President – impacting immigration, court appointments and trade.  Whereas losing that majority could disrupt (even more) the President’s efforts to drive his “America First” agenda.  Either way, Canadians will be watching these elections very carefully and with some warranted concern.  The School of Public Policy and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute have assembled a panel of experts to help unpack the potential implications for Canada. Join us, the day after the election, to talk about what the results mean here.

Panel members

  • Laura Dawson, Director of the Wilson Center’s Canada Institute
  • Sarah Goldfeder, Principal at Earnscliffe
  • Colin Robertson, Vice President and Fellow, CGAI and Executive Fellow at The School of Public Policy
