Deputy Governor Tim Lane will discuss how the Bank of Canada manages uncertainty as it carries out monetary policy and communicates with Canadians. He will focus on the experience during the global pandemic: how did the Bank make and communicate its decisions in the face of extraordinary uncertainty about the pandemic’s economic impact? How have its views and policies evolved in response to developments? And what challenges lie ahead?
