Laurence Kotlikoff, Professor of Economics, Boston University

The United States is bankrupt, flat broke. Thanks to accounting that would make Enron blush, America’s insolvency goes far beyond what our leaders are disclosing. The United States is a fiscal basket case, in worse shape than the notoriously bailed-out countries of Greece, Ireland, and others. How did this happen? In his talk, Boston University Professor Laurence Kotlikoff will discuss America’s and much of the developed world's six-decade, off-balance-sheet, unsustainable Ponzi scheme and its terrible implications for generational inequality. He will also discuss tax and other reforms that can get America and other fiscal basket cases back on track.
