Red Flares: The Fight for Transparency and Sustainability in Africa
Watch the Webinar
The world is increasingly hungry for raw materials. That’s no secret. The growth of Asian economies and the increasing instability of other resource rich regions means the world is looking to resource rich Africa as the next big source of raw material supply.
But doing that right, responsibly, and sustainably is critical to ensure that Africans see transformative benefit from their resources. What are the legal, regulatory, and social frameworks necessary for responsible resource extraction? How are stakeholders ensuring the environment is protected, and local people benefit?
Those are the tough questions that will be addressed by an expert panel assembled by the Extractive Resource Governance Program (ERGP) at The School of Public Policy. Please join us as we explore these themes, with perspectives from across the continent.
