Alternate Text or Title of article

Jennifer Winter and Roberta Rice have received a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and will be presenting at the Knowledge Synthesis awards forum.

In a year with few bright spots for the energy sector, Alberta Oil magazine’s Top 35 Under 35 highlights young stars helping to transform the industry. The University of Calgary has strong representation in this dynamic group, including 15 people with university connections.

Among them is Jennifer Winter, University of Calgary assistant professor and area director, Energy and Environment Policy in The School of Public Policy. Winter is also a triple UCalgary alumna with a bachelor of arts (2005), master of arts (2007) and a doctorate in economics (2011.)

Winter’s work at The School of Public Policy focuses on the effects of government regulation and policy on the development of natural resources and energy, and the consequences and trade-offs of energy development. She’s actively engaged in increasing the public’s understanding of energy and environmental issues and has been recognized for her work with a Young Women in Energy Award in 2014.
