SPP Forum: Addressing Ageism Through the Age-Friendly University Initiative
Join the School of Public Policy for our Forum 2026 series.
This installment of the series is an informative discussion with special guests Dr. Sandra Davidson, Provost and Vice-President (Academic), University of Calgary; Dr. Chantelle Zimmer, Senior Manager of the Centre on Aging at the University of Calgary; and Dr. Jayna Holroyd-Leduc, Scientific Director of the Centre on Aging. This event is titled Addressing Ageism Through the Age-Friendly University Initiative.
The University of Calgary’s Center on Aging is part of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health. A key focus of its work examines ageism as a policy and practice issue. During this session, Dr. Zimmer will introduce the concept of ageism and discuss how it can be addressed through the University of Calgary’s Age-Friendly University initiative. This will be followed by an interview between Dr. Holroyd-Leduc and Dr. Davidson.
