SPP Forum: Sustainability Today
Join the School of Public Policy for our Forum 2026 series.
This installment of the series is an informative discussion with Dr. Irene Herremans, Professor Emerita, University of Calgary, titled Sustainability Today.
Research has found that certain variables in the structure and governance of an organization are consistently significant in supporting continuous improvement in sustainability performance and the ability to achieve an organization’s sustainability objectives.
Dr. Herremans will discuss findings not only from her own research, but also from the research of others in the field of sustainability performance and reporting. Examples from organizations will be provided as to how these variables are implemented in actual practice. The discussion will cover both general sustainability performance and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
