Canada’s productivity challenges will be the focus of a Walrus Talks event with the School of Public Policy’s Dr. Trevor Tombe bringing his insights from Canada’s Productivity Initiative to the panel discussion.
The Walrus Talks: Growing Canadian Productivity will take place Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. MT and will explore how higher education can help strengthen Canada’s productivity and long-term prosperity. This online event is free to attend. Register here to join.
The Walrus Talks is a national event series about Canada and its place in the world. It explores ideas and issues and helps to elevate public discourse on matters of importance to Canadians.
Tombe will be joined on the panel by fellow experts Tima Bansal at the Canada Research Chair program, Akolisa Ufodike at York University and Val Walker at Business + Higher Education Roundtable.
Tombe leads the School of Public Policy’s Canada’s Productivity Initiative by conducting research on key aspects of productivity across the country. Panel sessions this year in Ottawa, Halifax, and Vancouver discussed topics, including taxation, interprovincial trade and infrastructure.
Sessions continue this fall in Montreal, Saskatoon, and Toronto. Tombe will share insights aimed at strengthening Canada’s productivity.
