Joint Degree Programs

The School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary offers two joint program options to
Master of Public Policy students.

Joint JD/MPP Program

The Juris Doctor / Master of Public Policy program at the University of Calgary offers the opportunity to study the spectrum of dynamic issues where law and public policy intersect. Offered in partnership with the Faculty of Law, this combined program is for students interested in developing their legal skills and their ability to understand, analyze, develop and implement public policy. Students are able to complete both degrees in three years.

Students interested in the JD/MPP must meet the admission requirements for the Faculty of Graduate Studies and those for the JD program and the MPP program. Separate applications for the JD and the MPP are required for the joint program.

Joint MBA/MPP Program

The University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy and Haskayne School of Business offer Canada’s first joint Master of Business Administration / Master of Public Policy program. This 2.5 year program positions students to be successful in roles where government and industry connect.

Students interested in the MBA/MPP must meet the admission requirements for the Faculty of Graduate Studies and those for the MBA program and the MPP program. Separate applications for the MBA and the MPP are required for the joint program.
