This first webinar in the series reviews the math and concept behind “4 per thousand” – the idea that a tiny annual increase in the global soil carbon stocks every year would significantly reduce the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. The impact would be large because the amount of soil, farmland and otherwise, is huge. Is it real? Is it practical? Could it work? What does it mean for Canada? What policy interventions could enable Canada to work toward this goal if it is seen as pragmatic. Join us for an introduction to this intriguing concept.
