International Trade
As an integral part of its International Policy work, the School of Public Policy conducts research and convenes experts and thought leaders to develop new solutions to emerging issues in global trade. While working on the broader trade issues, sectors of focus include agriculture, energy and services in markets arrayed around the Pacific in North and South America as well as China and the Indo-Pacific. SPP now boasts extensive expertise on trade agreements and governance in its areas of focus.
The research and convening work find practical solutions to emerging issues such as new strategies for agricultural exports and rethinking export promotion services. SPP has a proven ability to create forums for internationally recognized experts and policy figures to discuss and debate global economic issues.
Building on this success, the International Trade program is building partnerships with leading think tanks and academic research centres in Canada, North America and Asia to bring new solutions to the new problems that face global trade.
